It was ultimately what inspired her to assist and guide students to their unique path and to dedicate herself to helping them to create their best possible college experience.

Professional Path
Kira attended the University of California at Los Angeles. After completing a degree in Communications Studies with a Business Emphasis, Kira had a successful career as a CPA for Price Waterhouse in Los Angeles working in the audit and tax departments. She and her husband later moved to Santa Barbara where she became a lecturer in both the University of California at Santa Barbara Economics Department and the Santa Barbara City College Accounting Department. She shared her expertise in both accounting and tax to undergrads.
Passion Becomes Commitment–Making A Difference In Kids’ Lives.
Becoming a parent revealed a love for participating in the lives of not only her own children but other children she grew close with over the years.
She found that she could really make a tangible difference in those kids’ lives by actively volunteering in local organizations and schools.
Diving into Volunteer Work At Direct Relief
Kira led the Youth for Direct Relief Clubs throughout Santa Barbara for nine years and has educated hundreds of high school students about disaster aid around the world and about how to make a difference. The clubs have raised over $300,000 under her leadership.
She has also served on the Direct Relief Women’s Board for the past six years and has been able to connect youth across the country to Direct Relief.
College and Scholarship Application Workshops
She then discovered her love and skill for helping kids figure out their next step after high school. She began volunteering in college and scholarship application workshops at Santa Barbara High School adding to her extensive array of specialized experience and knowledge in the college application arena. There was such a need for help that she expanded her guidance to kids in her Youth for Direct Relief Clubs.
For the past ten years, she has had great success with college acceptances through her one-on-one efforts to help kids realize their college acceptance potential.
WisePath College Consulting
Kira founded WisePath College Consulting in response to a great need she observed for high school students to have comprehensive guidance during their high school years culminating in the college application and selection process. She combines her expertise in high school education and extracurricular activities with her vast knowledge about colleges around the country to guide students to the institutions that are the best fit for them.
Kira and her husband, Barry are the proud parents of two boys and twin girls, who are now all either graduated, attending or committed to colleges across the country.
